Sri Lanka to prioritize integration of power grids with India by 2030

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan government has decided to prioritize the integration of power grids between Sri Lanka and India by 2030.

The Ministry of Power and Energy said the World Bank is providing the necessary support to the Ceylon Electricity Board to develop the technical understanding and business framework required to implement the project.

World Bank's Director of Regional Integration and Engagement in the South Asia Region Cecile Fruman and World Bank's Country Manager for Maldives and Sri Lanka Chiyo Kanda discussed the matter with Sri Lankan authorities on Tuesday (06).
