COLOMBO (News 1st); MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam has been arrested.

The MP was arrested at his residence in Colpetty, by a special Police team which arrived from Kilinochchi. 

Police Spokesman Attorney SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the MP was arrested regarding an incident which took place during a meeting in Maruthankerny, involving Police officers.

An overseas travel ban was imposed on MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam on Tuesday (06), after Police tabled facts regarding the incident to the Kilinochchi Magistrate's Court.
