Dengue risk increases in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); The number of high risk Medical Officer of Health divisions for dengue has increased to 67.

Dr. Lahiru Kodithuwakku of the National Dengue Control Unit said the number of dengue cases in 28 MOH divisions had increased in comparison to last week.

41,098 dengue cases have been reported so far this year.

The highest number of patients, 9,100, are reported from the Gampaha district of the Western Province.

Dr. Lahiru Kodithuwakku said 8,600 patients were reported from the Colombo district and 2,200 from the Kandy district.
