COLOMBO (News 1st); Two 19-year-old youths have died after drowning in the Henanigala Wewa in Dehiattakandiya.

Police said four people were swept away by the tide when they went swimming with a group, and two of them were rescued.

However, two youths residing in Habaraduwa, Galle have drowned.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old school student drowned in the Kumbukkan Oya in Monaragala.

He drowned when he went swimming with a group of relatives.

Police said the student was sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level examination this year.
