Colombo (News 1st) – Sri Lanka scored a strong 323 for 6 wickets in the 2nd ODI versus Afghanistan in Hambantota on Sunday, thanks to a run-a-ball 78 by keeper Kusal Mendis, with strong support from Dimuth Karunaratne (52), Sadeera Samarawickrama (44) and Pathum Nissanka (43).
After Karunaratne and Nissanka set up the inning with an opening stand of 82, Mendis featured in several important stands before he was the fifth man out, having smashed one six and seven fours in his 75-ball inning.
Mohammad Nabi was the pick of the Afghan bowlers taking 2 wickets for 52 runs.
Afghanistan leads the 3-match series 1-0.
