Report called over incident involving MP Ponnambalam

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles has called for a report regarding the incident involving Chairman of the Tamil National People's Front MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam and Police officers in Jaffna.

The Ministry of Public Security said it will report the facts to court tomorrow regarding the incident.

The incident was reported when MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam was meeting the people in Mardhan Karni Vadamarachchi East in Jaffna last Friday.

The MP said a group of people who arrived there identifying as members of the Police Investigation Unit had threatened and attacked him.
