COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles has instructed the Inspector General of Police to conduct a proper security assessment and provide Police protection only to essential persons.

It was revealed that there is a shortage of officers in Police stations due to the deployment of Police officers to various places and for the protection of people.

These issues have been discussed in the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Public Security Affairs.

The MPs said that Police protection has been provided to various places and people for a long time.

The MPs highlighted the need to take measures to appreciate the officials involved in drug-related raids during the committee meeting.
