COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Attorney General's Department says that it will be notified on the 1st of June, of the Government's decision to call up the case filed in the Singapore High Court, before the International Commercial Court.
The case was filed to get compensation for the damage caused to the marine environment of Sri Lanka by the X Press Pearl ship.
The case is scheduled to be called before the Singapore High Court on the 1st of June.
The department mentions that steps will be taken to instruct the law firm handling the relevant case.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General's Department has announced that steps have been taken to give the necessary instructions to the Marine Environment Protection Authority to prepare some amendments regarding the X-Pearl compensation report.
