Public sector employees contesting LG poll to be reinstated from Tuesday (09)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Public sector employees who submitted nominations to contest the local government election, will be reinstated from Tuesday (09), State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Janaka Wakkumbura said.

The State Minister Secretary has directed the relevant circular to the National Election Commission for approval, he said.

They will be reinstated to the nearest service requirement outside their electorates, the State Minister said.

These public sector employees will be entitled to all allowances in addition to their basic salary, he added.
