The Super Mario Bros. Movie pass $1 billion at the global box office

Colombo (News1st) - A significant milestone has been reached by the animated film "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" not long after its debut with a strong opening weekend at the box office.

According to a news release from Universal, the movie broke box office records on Sunday(29) by grossing more than $1 billion worldwide. It is currently holding the top spot for a fourth weekend in a row.

The 10th animated film in history to cross over $1 billion, "Super Mario Bros." surpasses "Minions: The Rise of the Gru"'s $942.5 million worldwide gross to become the 10th-biggest animated movie of all time.
