IMF debate to continue in Parliament

COLOMBO (News 1st); The debate on the extended fund facility granted to Sri Lanka by the International Monetary Fund will be taken up in Parliament for the second day on Thursday (27).

News 1st Parliament correspondent said the debate will continue for a third day, with a vote due to be held in Parliament on Friday (28) evening.

The Jathika Jana Balawegaya and the Freedom People's Alliance have decided to vote against the program.

Political sources said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentary group will convene on Thursday (27) to reach a final decision on the matter.

News 1st Parliament correspondent said SriLankan Airlines has been called before the Committee On Public Enterprises (COPE) on Thursday (27).

The Committee on Public Finance is due to convene in Parliament at 10.30am on Thursday (27).
