Less accidents reported this holiday season

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Around 200 people were admitted to the Emergency Unit of the National Hospital in Colombo during the 32 hour window which ended at 6 PM on Saturday (15).

78 people were admitted on Friday (14), the NHSL said.

"There was a significant drop in the number of accidents caused by fireworks during New Year celebrations," NHSL Director Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe said, "only one person was admitted due to an accident caused by fireworks".
