Sri Lanka Met Department issues heat warning for Thursday and Friday

Colombo (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology issued a heat index advisory on Thursday (13) warning that temperatures in Sri Lanka will increase in parts of the Western, Southern, Eastern and North-Central provinces and in the Kurunegala, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts.

Temperature are expected to increase up to 39-45 Degrees Celcius (referred to as the ‘Caution’ level) in these areas on Thursday (13) and Friday (14). 

The Department advises the general public to remain well hydrated, stay in the shade as much as possible and to limit outdoor activities.
