Colombo (News 1st) – Iranian authorities have begun installing cameras in public places to nab women who have not covered their heads and faces with veils according to the country’s strict Islamic law, Iranian police announced.
First-time offenders would receive warnings via text messages, police said.
Dozens of people have died and thousands arrested in months of public protests across Iran against the hijab law, after a young girl was killed in police custody following her arrest for not being fully covered up.
