COLOMBO (News1st): Teachers' unions have given a positive response for the paper marking process of the 2022 G.C.E. A-level answer sheets, the Ministry of Education said.
It is expected that the University Teachers' Association will respond promptly to join the process of evaluation of answer sheets as well, the Ministry said.
The Ministry of Education stated that since the beginning of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, several rounds of discussions have been held with the Teachers' Unions and the University Teachers' Association and solutions have been initiated and steps have been taken to speed up the paper marking process as much as possible.
Although the total number of examiners required for the paper marking process of the A-level examination is 19,000, only 12,000 applications were received, Ministry of Education said.
Meanwhile, the examination department says that the evaluation of A-level answer sheets has been delayed by about 50 days, due to teachers and university lecturers not joining the process.
