Colombo (News 1st) – Pope Francis is scheduled to leave hospital on Saturday and be at the Vatican's Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square on Sunday, Italian media reported.

The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, said: "As he is scheduled to leave the hospital tomorrow, Pope Francis is expected to be present in St. Peter's Square for the Eucharistic celebration of Palm Sunday, Passion of the Lord."

Italian Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re said Pope Francis “would be able to preside over, but not celebrate, Holy Week ceremonies”, the Vatican News Service reported.

The Pope was admitted to Agostino Gemelli University Hospital in Rome late Wednesday for a lung infection and is being treated with antibiotics for bronchitis.
