COLOMBO (News 1st) - After being admitted to a Rome hospital with a respiratory condition, Pope Francis could be discharged "in the coming days."
According to the Vatican, the pontiff's health has improved significantly after receiving antibiotics for a bronchitis.
On Wednesday, he was admitted to Gemelli Hospital for what was originally described as a scheduled check-up.
A statement from the Vatican said, he was identified with bronchitis and administered an antibiotic infusion.
According to the Vatican statement, "based on the expected progress [of his health], the Holy Father could be discharged in the coming days."
