People engaging in illegal activities at BIA to be fined Rs.100,000

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A decision has been reached to increase the fine imposed on people who engage in various illegal activities at the Katunayake International Airport.

Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said a decision was reached to increase the fine to Rs.100,000.

The Minister said complaints were lodged regarding taxi drivers, transport service providers, and other officials engaging in illegal activities at the airport.

Such persons were charged a fine of Rs.25,000 prior to this.
