COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Department of Examinations has announced that they are taking immediate steps to start marking the G.C.E Advanced level examination papers.
Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara, confirmed that once the current issues faced by university lecturers are resolved, paper-marking activities will begin.
Although 19,000 teachers are needed to mark the answer sheets, only 13,337 have applied so far.
However, there are sufficient eachers available to mark papers in Tamil, said the Commissioner General.
Jayasundara highlighted the shortage of teachers for evaluating subjects that most candidates participated in.
When asked if the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination may be delayed, he confirmed that arrangements are being made to hold the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination as planned.
