Colombo (News 1st) – Sri Lanka’s Parliament is to consider amending several Penal Code provisions that are often used against the LGBTQ community.
A Private Member’s Bill from Premnath Dolawatte, SLPP MP representing Colombo District, was gazetted and published in the order book of Parliament on Wednesday, which seeks to amend sections 365 and 365A of the Penal Code. These sections criminalize consensual same-sex relations.
