COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Urban Development has announced plans to repurpose unused presidential residences located across various cities in Sri Lanka for tourism development.
Minister Anura Karunathilaka stated that discussions have already commenced with potential investors to transform these properties into tourist attractions. The initiative aims to strengthen the country’s foreign exchange earnings by leveraging the tourism sector.
However, concerns have arisen regarding the land on which the presidential residence in the Jaffna region has been constructed.
