COLOMBO (News 1st); The Federation of University Teachers Associations said that its members will continue to strike against the conduct of the government.

Activities across state universities were crippled on Thursday (16), and FUTA said it would refrain from taking part in evaluating the answer scripts of the G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination.

Sri Lanka's Examination Department said that the evaluation of answer scripts of the G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination has been delayed by 22 days.

Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara told News 1st that the paper marking process was hampered due to the trade union action adopted by the Federation of University Teachers' Associations to refrain from taking part in the process.

He said that despite increasing the allowances for taking part in paper marking, teachers have stepped away from the process and thus it has become a challenge to commence the evaluation of answer scripts of the G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination
