Police reveal details of Panadura shooting; Victim was a foreign liquor store owner from Kadawatha

COLOMBO (News 1st); The man who was shot dead on Tuesday (28) morning close to the Pinwatte Public Cemetery was identified as a 56-year-old businessmen from Kadawatha.

Two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle had carried out the shooting. It was reported that the victim was traveling along Galle Road in a luxury SUV, when the gunmen opened fire and fled the scene.

Sri Lanka Police said the victim died in the driver's seat. The victim was identified as 56-year-old Sampath Kudagoda from Kirillawala, Kadawatha.

Sri Lanka Police said that he was the owner of a foreign liquor store in the Kadawatha Town.

Sri Lanka Police also added that he was building a house in Pinwatte, Panadura, and was shot while on his way to the constructions site.

A police investigation is underway to identify and locate the shooters.
