COLOMBO (News 1st); Three locally fabricated Combat All-Terrain Vehicles were handed over to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters on 22nd February 2023. These special vehicles were designed to suit the operational needs of the Sri Lanka Navy.
Adopting an idea mooted by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, this special vehicle has been designed in such a way that it could tackle most of the terrains with ease, during naval operations.
Accordingly, these Combat All-Terrain Vehicles will be put to good use especially in beach patrols, search operations and other operations mounted by the Sri Lanka Navy Marines to curb illegal activities in coordination with law enforcement agencies, in due course.
