Minister of Justice says draft new National Security Act to be submitted to Cabinet next week

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Minister of Justice says that the draft of a new National Security Act will be submitted to the Cabinet next week. Minister of Justice, President's Counsel Attorney Wijayadasa Rajapaksa says that the Prevention of Terrorism act would be repealed and the new National Security Act would replace it. 


The minister says that the proposal for the new act would be submitted to the Cabinet Secretariat within the next week for this purpose. The Minister of Justice says that the new National Security Bill would be reviewed by a special committee appointed under the co-chairmanship of Additional Solicitor General Nerin Pulle and President's Counsel Nalinda Indatissa.
