One dead, four injured in dispute in Peliyagoda

Colombo (News 1st) - A person has died and four others have sustained injuries in a dispute between two groups in Pethiyagoda, Peliyagoda.

Police said they were assaulted with sharp weapons and sticks.

Three people who were injured in the incident were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

A 42-year-old resident of Pethiyagoda, who was in critical condition, died upon admission.

The other two people are being treated at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital.

The reason for the dispute has not been revealed thus far.
