Mirissa drug bust: Court grants permission to detain five suspects for 7 days

Colombo (News 1st) - Court has granted permission to detain the five suspects who were arrested with heroin near the Mirissa fishing harbor for a period of seven days.
The order was issued when the suspects were produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court yesterday.
The Sri Lanka Navy seized over 23kg of heroin from their possession.
The suspects, aged between 33 and 42, are residents of Mirissa, Kamburugamuwa and Pitigala.
The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
