No excuses for failing to perform - President tells public officials

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized that it is the responsibility of public officials to provide maximum public service, and should never give reasons for not performing their duties.

During the District Development meeting in Badulla, the President emphasized that government officials should use the law as a shield to serve the people and not the companies.  

President Ranil Wickremesinghe stated this while participating in the District Development Committee meeting held at the Badulla District Secretariat on Thursday (15).

"Government officials should act efficiently. I don't need excuses. There is no way that there could be problems between the government departments. As a government, everyone should come together and serve the people," the President was quoted by the President's Media Division.
