Railways to introduce queueless ticket counter

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Railways says it will implement a new program where people can purchase train tickets more comfortably without having to wait in queues.

This program is being implemented by a Chinese company, and the General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways W.A.B.S.E Gunasinghe said that people can buy train tickets under the new program through three main methods once it is implemented.

Railway General Manager further said that train tickets will be issued online, with self-service ticket machines and prepaid cards.

In addition, he said this program is scheduled to start in March 2023.
