COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka's Transport Minister has informed the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board to resign with immediate effect for failing to implement the decisions taken by the government for the welfare of the people of the country.
The Media Division of the Ministry of Transport and Highways noted that the Minister has informed SLTB Chairman Kingsley Ranawaka to step down immediately, as per the powers vested in him by the Sri Lanka Transport Board Act No 25 of 2005.
It notes that the main reason for this decision is that the SLTB had deliberately failed to implement the decisions taken by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Therefore, Kingsley Ranawaka has been informed to step down from the SLTB Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
