COLOMBO (News 1st) - Croatia secured their place in the knockouts of the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a goalless game against Belgium.
Belgium went into the break locked at 0-0 with Croatia in their decisive Group F clash at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on Thursday (1).
The Belgians had chance after chance to win, but never scored against Croatia.
The 0-0 draw was enough to send Croatia, the 2018 runners-up, through to the knockout stage, which has long been Belgium’s domain. But for the first time since 1998, Belgium will not advance out of group play.
