COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Customs detected Rs. 73 Million worth of drugs smuggled by post to Sri Lanka from the UK, Germany, Canada, USA, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Sri Lanka Customs said 13 parcels sent from the aforementioned countries over the recent past were detained and inspected on Thursday (3) in the presence of the Narcotic Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs, Sri Lanka Post, and the Police Narcotic Bureau.
The parcels had been sent to Sri Lanka citing personal items.
Upon opening these parcels, detectives discovered the following:
921 g of Kush
106 g of ICE
1 litre of Organic Hemp Oil
5,272 pills of Methamphetamine
425 narcotic stamps
2 g of Mandy
4 g of Hashish
The seized contraband was handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau for Investigation.
