New Atamasthanadhipathi appointed; NO politicians or VIPs for duty assuming ceremony

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Shasthrapathi Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thero, the Chief Sangha Nayake of the Nuwara Kalaviya was appointed as the Atamasthanadhipathi of Anuradhapura following a unanimous decision reached by the working council.

Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thero was appointed as the Atamasthanadhipathi following the demise of the late Most Venerable Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero.

Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thero will assume duties as the Atamasthanadhipathi on the 11th of November 2022.

The Most Venerable Thero said the ceremony would be a simple one, and politicians or VIPs will not be invited for the occasion.
