Constitutional Assembly to be formed in two weeks

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe says Parliament's Constitutional Assembly will be established in the next two weeks.

He said the required action will be taken with the intervention of the Speaker.

The Speaker recently endorsed the certificate on the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.

The Constitutional Assembly will consist of 10 members.

Minister Rajapakshe says that once the Constitutional Assembly is established,  independent commissions will be appointed.
