Will three-wheeler fares be reduced?

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Chairman of the all-island three wheeler drivers association, Lalith Dharmasekara says that despite the fuel quota being doubled, the fares will not be dropped. 

Dharmasekara said that three-wheeler drivers have been running at a loss so far, with Rs. 100/- for the first kilometre and Rs. 90 for each one after. 

However, he pointed out that there are three wheelers which run at Rs. 150 per kilometer, which can afford to reduce fares.

Dharmasekara stressed the importance of regulating a price for fares, and emphasized on labeling each three-wheeler as such.
