Cabinet approval to revise rooftop solar rates

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara says that Cabinet approval has been granted to revise Rooftop Solar Tariff Rates.
Accordingly, a two-tier current tariff rate of Rs 22 and Rs 15.50 will be revised to a flat rate of Rs 37 for less than 500KW and Rs 34.50 for above 500KW Rooftop Solar for 20 years.
He added that these tariffs will be adjusted annually based on a formula.
