COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka Police OICs who were transferred following the 9th May violence have been allowed to file appeals against the transfers.

23 Police OICs were transferred following the 9th May violence that broke out.

Public Security Secretary S. Hettiarachchi told News 1st that the OICs in question were alleged to have failed in their duty to prevent the violence from taking place.

At the same time, interviews for new Police OICs concluded, and the Public Security Secretary said the new OICs will be appointed after the 10th of October 2022.
