Train derailment; Railway Dept continuing repairs

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Railway Department says that further disruptions to trains plying along the coastal line could be expected.

A train derailed near Colpetty Railway Station on Thursday night,  disrupting the train movement on the coastal line.

As a result, trains plying from Colombo Fort to Wellawatta will run only on a single route.

The railway control authorities added that the restoration work of the track, which was damaged by the train derailment, has not been completed yet.
