Sri Lanka wants 13 gangsters extradited from Dubai

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Public Security Ministry said on Friday (16) that steps are being taken to extradite 13 wanted underworld criminals who are overseas and evading prosecution.

Public Security Secretary S. Hettiarachchi told News 1st that the wanted criminals are all in hiding in Dubai, and necessary extradition laws will be used to bring them back to face prosecution.

Among them are notorious underworld gang leaders Harak Kata, Ganemulle Sanjeewa, Kudu Dharme, as well as their associates.

He said the Attorney General's advice will be obtained to process the extradition documentation.
