COLOMBO (News 1st); The Parliament administration has decided to relax the restrictions imposed on the general public to visit and view the Parliament.
The decision has been reached with the approval of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs regarding the relevant proposal.
The opportunities for the public to visit the Parliament were previously limited due to the COVID-19 situation and other security reasons.
As a preliminary step, from September 20th onwards, school students will have the opportunity to visit the Parliament on non-meeting days.
However, prior approval will have to be obtained from the Parliament as previously.
This opportunity will also be made available for university students, students of higher education institutions as well as foreign tourists.
