COLOMBO (News 1st); MP Wimal Weerawansa who recently formed a political coalition with MPs who decided to remain independent from the government but were elected to Parliament from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, said that the Supreme Sri Lanka Coalition will NOT involve the SLPP in its activities.

"The Supreme Sri Lanka Coalition will contest every election. And we have no intention of involving the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna," he told reporters on Friday (9).

He further said that awarding State Minister positions is yet another attempt to bring back the Rajapaksas into the Sri Lankan political sphere.

"The people rejected nepotism. But, Shasheendra Rajapaksa was appointed a State Minister. That means Namal Rajapaksa is due to receive a Cabinet position," noted the  MP.
