Over 200 filling stations closed island-wide

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Lanka Filling Station Owners Association says that nearly 300 filling stations have been temporarily closed across the contemporarily the short supply of fuel.

The Chairman of the Lanka Filling Station Owners' Association Kumara Rajapaksa says that the economic situation of the filling station owners is another reason for the closure of the filling stations.

Secretary of the Sri Lanka Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association Shantha Silva also commented on delays in fuel distribution.

He blamed the new method of ordering fuel after depositing a sum of money, as the reason for the delays.
