COLOMBO (News 1st); Rev. Fr. Jeewantha Peiris, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teacher's Union Joseph Stalin, Activist Duminda Nagamuwa, and one other suspect who appeared in court over an incident where they forcefully entered the President's Office and convened a media briefing, were granted bail by the Fort Magistrate's Court.
Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered for the suspects to be released on personal bail of Rs. 500,000/- each.
The suspects appeared in court on Wednesday (24) upon being informed to do so by the Colombo North Crimes Investigation Division.
Sri Lanka Police said that the ten people were named as suspects in the incident where they forcefully entered the President's Office and convened a media briefing on the 13th of July 2022.
The case will be taken up again on the 31st of August 2022.
