COLOMBO (News 1st); The Commercial Fertilizer Company says that the 21,000 MT of Urea fertilizer imported under the Indian Credit Line, will be distributed to local farmers for Tea and Maize cultivations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture says that steps have been taken to cultivate 21,200 acres of fallow paddy fields for the upcoming Maha Harvesting Season across 8 districts.

The Ministry of Agriculture said that there are about 100,000 acres of uncultivated fallow fields, and a majority of them are located in the Western Province.
