COLOMBO (News 1st); Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on Friday (19) appealed for the Iranian Ambassador Hashem Ashjazadeh to increase investments in the Sri Lankan energy sector.
The Prime Minister explained the Ambassador with regard to increasing Sri Lanka's refinery capacity and future steps in connection with sustainable energy, and pointed out that Iran, as a country with much experience with regard to the fuel and energy sector, is able to increase investments to Sri Lanka.
Ambassador Ashjazadeh, who said that his expectation is to see for the ties between the two countries to strengthen, said that Iran is also due to donate a medicine consignment to Sri Lanka in the near future.
