Let Basil be: Tissa Kuttiarachchi

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi says that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna still has the ability to successfully face an election, despite allegations that the party has weakened. 

He also asked the public to let the former Finance Minister be, adding that the country should now extricate itself from the fear of 'Basil Rajapaksa', as he resigned from both positions of Finance Minister and Member of Parliament.

"The public has such a fear of Basil Rajapaksa, I think he must be proud of the effect he caused," he said.

Moreover, Kuttiarachchi stated that a all-party solution has now been presented, and should ensure that the proposal comes into fruition, without attempting to interrupt the said procedure. 

"Do not blame Basil Rajapaksa, and do not blame the SLPP. We have made the most sacrifices as a party, we have given away the Presidency and Ministerial positions too," the SLPP MP added.
