Norochcholai to take eight days to cool down: CEB

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board says that it will take 08 days to cool down the generator which was previously disabled at the Norochcholai Lak Wijaya Power Plant.

The first generator of the Norochcholai Lak Wijaya power plant was shut down on Monday (15) morning due to a technical failure.

Due to the failure, the national electricity grid lost a capacity of 270 megawatts.

The second generator of the power plant has also been switched off for essential maintenance work.

Meanwhile, the daily power cut was extended to three hours due to the failure of a generator at the  power plant.
