Emergency unlikely to be extended - President

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe believes that the emergency imposed in the middle of last month will not be extended when it lapses this week.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe had noted that a the government is planning to set up a Diaspora Office in Colombo to secure assistance from the Sri Lankan Diaspora overseas.

Speaking at an event in Colombo the President said the government is taking measures to uplift the country, and the support of all factions is necessary.
