Bill amending petroleum product provisions, gazetted

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Petroleum Products (special provisions) amendment bill has been gazetted.

The gazette states that selected specific sectors of the economy can import and use the necessary quantities of fuel separately.

Accordingly, licenses will be issued to duly identified parties for petroleum imports.

The amendment of the relevant Act was approved by the Cabinet at the Cabinet meeting held on April 25th.

Accordingly, the bill is set to be passed in the Parliament in the near future.
