Six treasure hunters arrested in Bandarawela

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Bandarawela Anti-Vice Unit arrested six people who were excavating for treasure inside a forest reserve in Uva-Paranagama.

Authorities were given a tip-off about the treasure hunters, and they managed to arrest the six suspects and seize the equipment they were using following a raid inside the forest reservation.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were between the ages of 32 and 43, and were from Avissawella, Mathugama, Kosgama, and Bomburuella.

News 1st corespondents said that the suspects will be produced to the Welimada Magistrate's Court and investigations are ongoing.
